A good sharp

It is easy for a skater may skid or lose a leap based solely on the quality of your final sharpening.

The professional skating has always understood the importance of a large sharp. Figure skating is a sport that is judged on the ability to control your edges skater. A skater may skid or lose a jump or can gain or lose a competition depending on their edges are sharp right or wrong.

Understand that this simple fact is what has led us to study the action of the channel (transverse curve) and keeping the rocker (longitudinal curve), keeping the rules in sharpening. Part of the success depends on the sharpness you understand this fundamental aspect. Sharpen skates for the most demanding group of skaters.

Manufacturers of blades with a blade design with a specific action radius of the blade. The radius of the blade longitudinal often called the rocker, is what determines what the blade is in contact with the ice surface, as well as the rise of the blade. This can be seen when a blade is placed on a flat surface and roll it forward until it touches the tooth of the merganser. The radius of the blade is measured in feet. Each manufacturer has its design, the blades have a longitudinal radius between 213 cm and 275 cm. If you are a skater, then you must understand the importance of the longitudinal radius of the blade (the rocker) and that the skate will help you to be a better skater. Or at least an informed consumer. The grinding wrong (bad habits sharpening) over a period of time alter the radius of the knife and slowly begin to degenerate increasing losing contact section accuracy figures in skating, Keep the manufacturer's original radio is absolutely necessary for consistent performance of the blade.

The channel depth is what determines the greater or lesser slip and grip on the ice. Is as radii are between 12.7 mm 11.11 mm 15, 875 mm.

The smaller the radius, 9 mm, the channel is deeper or the opposite of that, is to smooth the channel.

The active sharp blade running, give you the grip you have to have an edge and momentum that a skater has to do to maintain your speed. A more profundad channel edges are nailed over the surface of the ice and the skater has to make more effort to slide, hence the great importance that is done properly.

The professional skater must know the radius you have to use to make their performance better. The consideration can be made for your level of skating, ice conditions you skid, personal preference, weight, type of blade, etc.

To skate well, you must be able to rely on their knives. The sharpener should be assured of consistent results, every time.

Sharpen blades only when needed. This can vary depending on the quality of the blade, the conservation of the track (past removing dirt machine water), the state of the tires on the outside of the track (protectors). For reference a skater who will skate twice a week and has an MK Professional blade sharpening usually required every three months (40 hours of use). A sign that the blades are worn is when you slip when braking or when doing lateral thrust.

Sharpen blades new, even when they say they are sharp. The sharpening blades manufactured in economic is of low quality.
